From jump roads to sand pits, Ford’s Ranger Raptor makes an appearance at the Raptor Rally.
The 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor competes as a mid-sized super truck. That is: like its big brother, the F-150 Raptor, or others like the Ram TRX, the Ranger Raptor is an off-road powerhouse in its segment General Motors, Toyota, and (to a lesser extent) Nissan have competitors, but the Ranger The Raptor’s muscles go deep.

The Ford Ranger Raptor has some history
Originally designed for foreign markets, the Ford Ranger Raptor was sold in many areas where the F-150 Raptor was not available. That’s according to Ford. Basically, they could calm down those who couldn’t get bigger.
There are many factors involved. There were powertrain, EPA, and safety issues that needed to be resolved if they wanted to sell in North America. However, that would be a high price. Furthermore, many believe that Ford may have been wary of selling the F-150 Raptor in exchange for the Ranger Raptor.

Even when the Ranger Raptor surfaced overseas in 2018, many in North America were still upset about the automaker’s decision. In addition, General Motors introduced the high-performance off-road Colorado Canyon pickups. The ZR2 and AT4X have no real competition – except for the Jeep Gladiator.
These new, or newborn, pickup trucks posed a serious threat. Ford responded (finally) by bringing the Ranger Raptor to our shores, while simultaneously destroying the competition.

Ranger Raptor pricing
The 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor has a starting price of $55,720 before departure, extra costs and taxes. Yes, the Colorado ZR2 has a base price that undercuts the Ranger Raptor by 10 percent. On the other hand, the “Bison” version of the Colorado ZR2 starts at $61,000.
It sits at the lower end of the financial spectrum when compared to the Bison, the GMC Canyon AT4X and the Toyota Tacoma Trail Hunter. A base ZR2, or a fully loaded Frontier Pro4X undercut the Ranger Raptor.
